SUMMARY: The Fraternal Order of Police is the Nation's largest organization with over 250,000 members and over 1,900 lodges through the United States. Founded in 1915, the F.O.P. represents professional, full time officers from all the various law-enforcement agencies. 0n a national scale, the F.O.P. is law-enforcement officers striving to improve their profession by improving working conditions, wages and benefits, and monitoring legislation affecting peace officers this money comes from the dues that are paid by each member on a yearly basis. On February 6, 1997, Local F.O.P. Lodge # 73 was chartered and named High Forest Lodge # 73 with the intent of being able to help those less fortunate in our community and also as a way for officers to be involved with the community on a different level than in our daily duties.
